LOYALTY CARD BID TO LURE SHOPPERS
There is a possibility of a Loyalty Card being introduced whereby customers are rewarded for shopping with retailers who are part of the scheme.

Hide AdIf the idea takes off, Lewes will be one of the first towns in East Sussex to embrace such a project.
Lewes jeweller David Clark of W E Clark and Son came up with the idea and has had seven positive responses from small traders and another two showing interest.
He has sent messages to fellow traders, saying: 'We need to put a bit of positive feeling out there about Lewes.

Hide Ad'I agree that we need to maintain pressure on the authorities to make changes to the parking; but we also need to move on and put Lewes back into people's minds and make then repeat their visits so we can show them why Lewes is the best.

In the Loyalty Card scheme, shops issues cards to customers who, each time they spend within the network, gain points.
The points can be redeemed in a variety of ways, but probably by getting discounted prices on further purchases.

'The matter will, however, be brought up at a future Lewes Chamber of Commerce meeting and I am most interested in hearing the views of other traders and members of the public.'
