Madcap antics abound in Anything Goes

IT’S Delightful, It’s Delicious, It’s De-Lovely - and it’s coming to Battle tonight (Thursday).

Battle Light Opera Group’s production of the Cole Porter classic ‘Anything Goes’ sails into town until Saturday May 7.

With director Tara Buchanan and musical director Richard Eldridge at the helm of this buoyantly dance-happy production and with toe-tapping numbers including You’re the Top, I Get a Kick Out of You and It’s De-Lovely as well as the title song and Blow Gabriel Blow, audiences should leave Battle Memorial Hall in high spirits.

The Depression-era story, originally written by PG Wodehouse, concerns madcap antics aboard the luxury cruise liner SS America bound from New York to London. The action revolves around the misadventures arising from the collision of brassy nightclub singer, Reno (played by Keren Keeler-Moore), a low-rank gangster in disguise (Peter Elliott), a handsome stowaway who’s out-of-his-head and out-of-his-league in love (Mark Stephens), an unobtainable heiress (Natasha Stevens) and an awkward British lord (Adrian Collins).

Book passage on Anything Goes via the ticket secretary on 01424 211140 or [email protected] or from Battle Stationers (£9 Thur May 5 at 7.30pm and Sat 7 at 2.30pm; £11 Fri 6 and Sat 7 at 7.30pm) and you’ll be travelling first-class.
