Madness at midnight - the crash that destroyed four families

A TEXT message argument with his girlfriend led drunk plumber Luke Quinell to storm out of his company Christmas party and get behind the wheel of his van.

That fateful decision led to the deaths of three close friends in an horrific crash.

Mum-of-four Sharon Hewer, 38, from Hobart Close, Durrington; Ivor Bingham, 39, from Dorset, and Clive Hancock, 37, from Billingshurst, all died in the accident outside the Coach and Horses pub, on the A27 at Worthing, just before midnight on December 22.
