Major changes unveiled at Care Centre

THIS year has seen some major changes at Rye’s local hospital.

The Medical Wing was completely re-furbished, and the charity which owns the site and buildings, Rye Health and Care Ltd, has a new Chairman in Barry Nealon and a new Chairman of Fundraising, John Jessup.

Barry says, “In taking over the Chair of Rye Health and Care Ltd I am keenly aware of the enormous contribution John Stevenson has made in securing the financial and physical health of the hospital going forward.

“This has increased through the successful lease negotiation with the Primary Care Trust in which they have committed to the next ten years and carried out a £300,000 re-furbishment bringing the Medical Wing facilities up to the best modern standards.

“The challenge going forward is to maximise the potential of our hospital through continuous clinical gain and community benefit.

“A number of very significant new investments are being developed to achieve this end which we hope to be announcing early in the new year.

None of this would be possible without the continued dedication of the exceptional staff and volunteers that bring life to our hospital.

“Both John Jessup and myself are available to meet with any individuals or groups who wish to participate in our plans; just call the hospital on 01797 224499 during office hours and ask for our Fundraising Administrator,

“On behalf of my fellow Trustees, may I thank everyone who has supported the hospital throughout the year and wish you a very happy and enjoyable Christmas.”
