Making communities safer in Arun

AN INVITATION has been sent to to residents to find out more about reducing crime and making communities safer in Arun at the next public meeting of the Joint Western Arun Area Committee (JWAAC) on Wednesday November 24.

There will be a display of the work on the Safer Arun Partnership between 6.30pm and 7pm at The Regis School, Westloats Lane, Bognor Regis.

People can view display stands and meet representatives from the Partnership, which includes West Sussex County Council, Arun District Council and Sussex Police. It focuses on issues including reducing anti-social behaviour and working with local communities.

From 7pm, there will be a presentation from Kevin Basford, Head of Environment and Community Safety and Georgina Holland, Community Safety Manager at Arun District Council, on the work of the Partnership. A question and answer session will follow.

Mike Coleman, chairman of the committee, said: “It is vital to feel safe in your community, and this is a chance to express any concerns or issues you may have.

Other items on the agenda include community police issues, play facilities in the area, and a highways and transport update.
