Male Voice Choir to perform at Christchurch

Forget Britain's Got Talent on Saturday night and enjoy real live singing instead.

A celebration concert by the Moira Male Voice Choir will be held at Christchurch Methodist Church from 7.30pm.

The group, from Leicestershire, will inspire its audience with a range of beautiful songs, from You Raise Me Up, There Is Nothing Like A Dame from South Pacific, Softly As I Leave You, and Let It Be Me.

Entrance is free and a collection will be taken for charity.

The Moira Male Voice Choir has existed for the best part of a century and has entered and won many competitions in that time, singing on television and radio, in front of Princess Diana, at Exeter Cathedral and Coventry Cathedral, and last year at Southwell Minster.

The concert will be compered by Ian Betteridge, with solos by Les Fletcher, Roger Muggleton, Maurice Lakin, Ron Tucker, David Garner and Brian Rose.

There will be a monologue by Alf Cobley, and the event will include two audience participation hymns.
