SOUTH MALLING SCHOOL: The Head Teacher says: 'a huge thank you goes to the Friends of South Malling who worked incredibly hard on Friday to create a wonderful Christmas Fair. Santa's grotto, carol singing, iced biscuits, mulled wine and mince pies as well as many games and festive activities all made it a very special Christmas event. It was great to see so many families at the fair and so many parents helping out on the day.

The Early Years classes ( Nursery and Reception ) have performed a lovely nativity for their parents this week. It was the first of a range of different Christmas performances. Next week the Years 2 and 3 classes will be performing their nativity.”

SOUTH MALLING CHURCH: (One of the Trinity Churches) is looking forward to their Carol Service this coming Sunday 11th December at 6.30pm. Please make a special effort to start your Christmas with carols at Trinity: South Malling, your Parish church. The service is a traditional “good sing” for everyone. It is largely in candlelight, about an hour in length and an opportunity to remind yourselves of what Christmas is really about and to meet friends and neighbours at the end, with mulled wine and mince pies and other seasonal fare to keep the conversation going. This Sunday is a big day for the church, because, on the morning of the 11th, the “Let there be more Light,” installation will be the launched in the Family Service. The Vicar of the Trinity churches, Revd Steve Daughtery, will be leading the service. The installation, based on the miracle of the loaves and Fish in the Bible, has been a joint collaboration between South Malling Church, South Malling School and the Pells - two of the three church schools linked to the three Trinity Churches. It also fits neatly with the launch of the Diocese’s “Year of the Bible,” last week. After the Service, the church will stay open in the afternoon until the carol service at 6.30 in the evening. The Morning Service begins as usual at 9.30 a.m. All are welcome.

TENANTS AND RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION: The Town Clerk has told the Association that they can get funding for six Grit Bins, which will add to the four that are already in place. The Town Council will also cover the cost of installing the bins but after that the Association will be responsible for refilling them at a cost of circa £75 per bin. The meeting agreed they should be installed, the committee will advise on locations for the bins and members agreed to check the bins to make sure that they are not filled with rubbish.
