Today (Friday) is our Christmas Fair and we look forward to lots of good cheer, a great community atmosphere and, of course, lots of Christmas related activities. This week we also held our prospective parent meetings for parents of children hoping to start school in September 2017. If you were unable to come, please contact the school for a time to come and visit.’

SOUTH MALLING CHURCH: (One of the three Trinity Churches.) This coming Sunday is the effective date for the launch of The Year of the Bible, the next stage of our Diocese’s strategy for growth. The Bishop of Lewes has reminded Anglican Christians in the Diocese that a sound knowledge and regular reading of the Bible is the best basis for growth and this Sunday is be hailed as Bring your Bible to Church Sunday. Church goers are asked to take their own favourite Bible to church as a reminder (or not, depending on whether it appears to have been well-read) of how important it is to them in their Christian lives. As part of the service, their Bibles will be blessed and their owners will be encouraged to commit to read regularly in the coming year and in the future. This Sunday’s service is a Communion Service, starting as usual at 9.30am. All are welcome.

KNITTED POPPIES: Eve Empringham wishes to say a big public thank you to all the people who made, sold and bought the knitted poppies devoted to honour those who have fought and are fighting for our country and to commemorate Armistice Day and the Centenary of the Battle of the Somme. She is very pleased and proud on their behalf to announce to everyone that the sales have raised over £1,500 for the Poppy Appeal of the Lewes Royal British Legion, setting another record for the knitted poppy scheme. Congratulations and many thanks to all involved. Well done.
