A MAN was arrested by patrolling police officers moments after a failed robbery attempt at a Bognor Regis off-licence.

At 8.45pm on October 16, a man went into Grande Wines in Nyewood Lane and threatened the assistant with a knife and tried to force her to open the till.

However she and another member of staff resisted and the man left empty handed.
