Manoj is stepping up for marathon

A man from Chichester is hoping to raise more than £2,000 for a national blood cancer charity by taking part in the London Marathon.

Manoj Bhatt will be taking on the famous 26.2 mile course in aid of Leukaemia CARE, a charity which offers support to patients, carers and health care professionals. The 38-year-old GP has a personal connection to the charity as a close family member has battled leukaemia.

Manoj said: “It’s been a long-term goal of mine to run the London Marathon and I’m thrilled to be doing it to raise money for Leukaemia CARE.

“This is a fantastic charity that offers invaluable support to patients with blood and lymphatic cancers.”

This will be Manoj’s first marathon, after taking part in the Worthing, Winchester and Great Run Half Marathons.His training is going well and so far he’s raised £500.

Clare Brooks, who works with the Marathon runners at Leukaemia CARE, said, “Our runners make all the difference to people who need that bit extra support. I’ve followed all our runners, including Manoj, from the point of sign up and I can’t wait for Manoj to cross that finishing line.”
