Mayor opens new offices

ACCOMPLISHED local artist Michael Irish's paintings graced the scene when Town Mayor Cllr Paul Lendon opened Andrews and Partners new offices.

The ceremony included a champagne reception to mark the move from Sackville Road to Devonshire Road. Michael Irish has been painting for over 20 years. He is a regular exhibitor with Bexhill Artists' Workspace.

Michael describes his work as: "Being driven by a compulsion to document the buildings, land and seascapes that surround me".

His delicate and evocative images are produced in watercolour, oil and sketch and beautifully capture Bexhill and the surrounding areas.

Andrews and Partners have been in Bexhill for 41 years.

Branch manager Malcolm Vint said: "We are delighted to be exhibiting Michael's work - he is an established and respected figure in the local community, our community and it is a privilege to be hosting such an event.

"We have been in Sussex for over 50 years now, building up businesses in Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill and our recent move to the new larger more modern offices represents our on-going commitment to the town and its community. I'm really excited to be celebrating this all this in this way."

Andrews' new look is introduced in all 71 branches across the South and follows consultation with both customers and staff. It was carefully developed with a team of business interior specialists to create a bright and friendly environment.

Marketing and customer services director Ronda Green said: "We feel it's really appropriate to an upbeat, professional and modern estate agency such as ourselves, the kind of setting that relaxes clients and allows them to make informed decisions about their future homes."

Michael Irish was present as, before invited guests, the Mayor formally cut a red ribbon at the door and declared the branch open.

Area manager Neil Miller said the move into the town's premier shopping street would improve the quality of service to the public.

Manager Malcolm Vint said the opening of the new branch was the result of a two and half year search for new premises. He hoped it would be the signal for a further 40 years success for Andrews and Partners in the town.
