The entertainment is a mix of juggling, jesting, and general tomfoolery.

There will be talks by Hands on History and an opportunity to see and try on mediaeval amour and weaponry.

Battle’s very own Knights of the Realm will be strutting their stuff with boo-ing and cheering to encourage them in their chivalrous endeavours.

On Monday the May Queen and dancers from Battle and Langton School will lead the parade down the High Street at 1pm accompanied by the Section 5 Drummers.

After the crowning of the May Queen at about 1.30pm the children will demonstrate how maypoling should be done.

1066 Falconry will be there and 1066 Lacemakers will be demonstrating the delicate art of lacemaking.

There will also be a potter’s wheel, games and facepainting to keep the little ones entertained, plus there will be a selection of stalls.

The event is organised by the Battle and District Chamber of Commerce and all proceeds will go towards funding the event.
