Meet Lily the Blue Crosscat who nobody wants

A NORTHIAM pet charity is appealing for help to find a happy new home for their longest staying resident.

Tortoiseshell cat Lily arrived with Blue Cross nearly six months ago, back in May, when her owner moved house and wasn’t able to take her along. But the two-year-old has sadly been overlooked time and again, while her companions in the cattery go off their new homes.

Staff at the centre would love to see Lily happily installed with a new owner before she reached her six month anniversary with the charity, in a couple of weeks’ time.

Centre manager Maria Steel said: “Lily is a beautiful girl and we’d really love to see her happily settled in her own place in time for Christmas.

“She loves company and would make a fantastic pet – she’ll give your hand a little lick to show you how much she likes you! We just can’t understand why she’s being overlooked. If anyone is thinking of getting a new cat, please come and meet lovely Lily to see how much she has to offer.”

“Lily is a very vocal, chatty cat and really enjoys being groomed. She is also very playful – her favourite toys are bits of string and toy fishing rods and she is something of an expert at catching treats. She would be best suited to a home with no other pets, but could live with older children if they get on when introduced at the centre. If you can help call the centre on 0300 777 1510.
