Meeting on caravans

A meeting in December will discuss 41 caravans parked on a Shripney farm.

Bersted district and parish councillor Ann Smee has arranged the session with Arun District Council chief executive.

She wants to find out if the council can learn from how other councils have tackled similar problems on top grade farmland in their areas.

The meeting about Manor Farm in Shripney Lane will follow a recent get-together which Mrs Smee arranged with residents and Arun's planning officers.

In March the Observer reported residents' anger about the presence of the caravans.

The farm claims the caravans only continue a long-established use of the land.
