Men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Rustington stabbing incident

FOUR men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing incident in Rustington on Friday evening which left two men with serious injuries (Friday, September 13).

Police were called to Oakhurst Gardens at 9.18pm, where paramedics were treating the men for serious stab wounds.

The victims, one with serious injuries, and one with critical injuries, were taken to hospital.

The second man’s injuries were feared life-threatening, but as of Saturday morning, both were judged to be stable.

Two men, aged 44 and 52, both from Rustington, were arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in custody on Saturday.

The injured men have also been arrested.

Detective Inspector Rob Walker from West Sussex CID said: “It was immediately apparent that a very serious incident had occurred at the property, with victims and others at the house being covered in blood.

“Two men, aged 24 and 47, had been seriously injured and were taken to hospital, one with critical injuries, initially feared to be life-threatening.

“Both are still in hospital this morning, but are now stable and recovering.

“Both of these men have also been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Initial indications are that those involved all knew each other, but there is confusion as to who was in or around the house at the time.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.
