Midhurst homeowners can improve their homes

AN OPPORTUNITY for Midhurst homeowners to improve their home, and raise money for a housing charity, is on offer.

A scheme launched this month by TV architect George Clarke will look to raise money for Shelter, by matching people up with members of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

The Architect in House 2013 scheme aims to help homeowners develop ideas for their property.

Mr Clarke said: “With the current state of the housing market, we’re staying in our homes for longer, but life doesn’t stand still and simple changes to your home can make a big difference.

“Architect in the House can really help people unlock the potential in their current homes and create more space, from a simple internal change to developing an attic space or designing an extension.”

The one-hour consultations include a suggested donation to Shelter of £45.

People in Midhurst can register until August 21 at www.architectinthehouse.org.uk

“As a Shelter ambassador I’ve seen first-hand how the money raised by this scheme helps people in desperate housing need,” added Mr Clarke.
