Motorcyclist dies in road crash

It was the second time in five days that a car and a motorbike had collided at the junction of Little Common Road and Sutherland Avenue.

In Sunday's accident, the 53-year-old Honda rider was in collision with a Seat car driving by a 72-year-old man from Essex.

The motorcyclist is expected to be formally named later today (Monday).

Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident which closed the main A259 trunk road.

In the earlier accident a Hastings rider was seriously injured in a collision with a car.
