Motorist cut free after crash in Littlehampton

A MOTORIST needed to be cut free from his car after he was involved in a collision in Littlehampton.

Two cars were involved in a crash at the new traffic lights at the junction of Eldon Way and the A259 in Littlehampton on Monday afternoon.

Following the incident, firefighters had to cut a man free from his car using hydraulic rescue equipment.

After being cut free, he was subsequently taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Two fire engines from Littlehampton were called to the scene of the collision, with one heavy rescue tender from Worthing also attending.

The incident happened at around 1.40pm and firefighters were at the scene for 30 minutes.
