SW CONSTRUCTION: Construction started this week on the section of Eatenden lane to the north of Riverhall Crossing so this section of road will be closed until Friday December 23rd when all construction work — and road closures — will cease until the contractors start again on January 3rd.

GRAND CHURCH RAFFLE: On Saturday December 17th there will be the drawing of The Grand Raffle at a coffee morning in Mountfield Church, with fantastic prizes including champagne and wine, local pork and produce, christmas cake and pudding, mince pies, cakes and much more.

CAROL & TOY SERVICE: Then, on the Sunday (December 18th) the Carol and Toy Service will start at 10.00 am. Toys brought to this service will be given to a local children’s home in the area in time for Christmas. All denominations are welcome to the services in our Church.

MOUNTFIELD CLUB: The Club will be holding its Christmas Quiz on Friday 23rd December starting at about 7.30.There will be a £2 entry fee per person which will include a buffet. Also on the same evening, the Club will be holding its Christmas raffle with squares only £1.00 each. There will be many prizes to be won on the night, and if any one would like to support the club by donating a raffle prize it would be very much appreciated. To book your place at the quiz or if you would like to donate a raffle prize please text or phone Steve on 07720 298971. In other Club news, the snooker team have just chalked up their seventh straight win in the Hurst Green League with a 4-1 win at Cramp and remain top of the league.
