SOUTHERN WATER: Chatting to some of the people who have found themselves in the front line for the first few weeks produced some very nice comments about the contractors' neighbourliness. It's been good to hear these mirrored by the contractors themselves. One of the first things, they did was to walk the route of the trenching for the sewerage pipes. They commented that there was a certain amount of stuff along the way apparently put there by some residents on Hoath Hill, the odd incinerator and such like. There are a few months in hand until this part of the construction work starts so there is plenty of time to clear things away in advance.
