Mountfield village voice

Barbara Valentine painted quick portraits of some local people at the Village Fete last month.

From 21st July until 5th August, there will be an exhibition in her studio at Mountfield Park Farmhouse. Barbara will be happy to paint adults, children and dogs in exchange for donations to St.Michael’s Hospice once again. Visitors will be able to view local scenes, flowers and seascapes painted in oils. Work completed by students at Mountfield Community Arts will be on display alongside Barbara’s and Juliette Dodd’s. There will also be some miniature paintings, watercolours, pastels and sculptures to see between 10am and 4pm on the above dates.

PCSO Chris Dewitt will be in Mountfield Village Hall on 26th July at 2pm. It will be an opportunity to meet him and talk about any problems or concerns that you have. More details are available on the village web site www.mountfield.org.uk

On Sunday 8th July , members of Mountfield Horticultural Society and friends set off by coach for an outing to RHS gardens at Wisley. After travelling through heavy rain and fog, they arrived to a clearing up shower, the weather brightened up and the sun came out and it remained dry all day.

Everyone had enjoyable day, many came home laden with plants from Wisley. The Summer Show takes place in just over a fortnight, on Saturday 28th July at 2.30pm in the village hall. Entry forms have to be in by Wednesday 25th July.
