FIRSTLY, more details about the wedding mentionned last week from Janet Rawles, the Bridegroom’s Mother;The marriage took place on Saturday 30th June 2012 at All Saints Church, Mountfield, between Jack Oliver Rawles, eldest son of Peter and Janet Rawles of Mountfield and Rachel Louise Quinnell, elder daughter of Phil and Steph Quinnell of Hastings.The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Malcolm Elwis.The bride, radiant in a full white gown, was given in marriage by her father and was attended by her sister and cousins as bridesmaids and her two young nephews as pageboys.The groom’s best man was close friend, James Brett.The reception was held at Crowhurst Park, Battle, where more guests joined the celebrations in the evening.The couple enjoyed a short break at a luxury spa hotel in Canterbury before packing up and setting off camping in France with their young son Louis!.

Also on June 30th, Mandy Sutton of Mountfield and her daughter Gemma completed a sponsored walk by moonlight to raise money for St.Michael’s Hospice. They walked from Little Common to Cooden then along Bexhill seafront and back to Little Common. The walk took place between 10pm and midnight. Mandy would like to say a big thank you to everyone who sponsored them including people from Mountfield Men’s Club and her work colleagues at Merriments. Well done to Mandy and Gemma for doing the walk and raising nearly £300 for St.Michael’s Hospice - a very worthy cause.
