MP backs ‘Green Deal’ for small businesses

Battle MP, Greg Barker, held a roundtable for businesses and groups on the Government’s Green Deal initiative at the Studio of the De La Warr Pavilion last Friday.

The Green Deal aims to transform the energy efficiency of British homes by helping homeowners, businesses and landlords make a wide range of energy efficiency improvements to their properties with no upfront costs. Some or all of the cost of energy-saving improvements to their properties can be paid for over time through savings on their energy bills.

The roundtable included a speakers from British Gas who are Green Deal providers and have already carried out over 8,000 Green Deal assessments nationally and Carillion who are Green Deal providers working with local smaller businesses to assess and install energy efficiency improvements.
