Tim Loughton is preparing for his fifth election campaign in 2015, having been re-adopted as the Conservative candidate for East Worthing and Shoreham.

He told a packed meeting in Shoreham, where the executive committee of the East Worthing and Shoreham Conservative Association made the announcement, he was delighted and honoured to be reselected.

“My enthusiasm for the job has not diminished over the last 16 and a half years and it has always been a privilege to represent the 90,000-plus residents of this area, both at Westminster and locally.”

He said he would fight a ‘vigorous’ campaign and was never complacent.

“We have a very strong Conservative team in Adur and Worthing now, and that has only come from hard work throughout the whole year, rather than just at election time, and from pursuing local issues which matter to, and for, local people,” he added.

Julie Searle, assoication chairman, said: “As chairman, I am delighted to have Tim standing as candidate again.

“Alongside all of the important work in Westminster on behalf of his constituents and in pursuing causes for children and young people, he has always been an excellent constituency MP and many local people have benefited from his considerable work over the years.”

Street surgeries, which include district councillors, are held across the constituency on most Saturdays.
