MP On Shadow Cabinet

ARUNDEL and South Downs MP Howard Flight was appointed Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury in the recent Tory reshuffle.

The promotion means that Mr Flight now joins the 25 other senior Conservatives of the Shadow Cabinet and is now the Shadow Chancellor's deputy.

Mr Flight said: "I am delighted to have been asked by Iain Duncan Smith to join the Shadow Cabinet.

"I am also pleased to remain within the Treasury Team, thus enabling me to continue the work of scrutinising Gordon Brown's dangerous, over-spun economic policies while also playing a very active role in developing new Conservative ideas."

The Shadow Health team was not affected by the reshuffle and East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton is still a Shadow Health minister.
