Mugging victim's fury after help is sent to wrong station

A DURRINGTON man has spoken of his disgust at the treatment he received from police after being mugged and beaten up.

The 38-year-old, who did not want to be named, said that after the attack last Thursday, in an alleyway off Ringmer Road in Durrington, he walked to Centenary House, the police headquarters in Durrington Lane.

He claims he was told by an officer outside to wait while he got someone to help him.

But despite waiting nearly half an hour, he said no officer came to assist him, and he was forced to call an ambulance for himself.

It later turned out police had been sent to the main police station in the town centre instead of Centenary House,

He said: "I think it's disgusting and it makes me really angry. When you go to a police station, you expect to get help but I was left to fend for myself.
