Mum and daughter injured in crash

A NINE-year-old girl and her mother were injured in a car crash.

The collison, with another car, happenedon the B2116 near Plumpton College.

The pair suffered facial injuries.

The woman, aged in her early 40s, and daughter were travelling in a Volvo V70 when the car was in collision with a Rover 214 driven by a 19-year-old student from Eastbourne, who was with two friends from Plumpton College.

The crash happened close to the spot where another student was killed in a road accident in November last year.

The accident happened at around 1.20pm yesterday (Wednesday)on a brow at the end of a long straight section of the road.

Police said both cars were completely written off. All those involved escaped with minor injuries.

The road was closed for about an hour.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
