Mystery of lights in the sky

WAS it a meteor, part of a satellite or a UFO? Barcombe resident John Chrismas wants to know.

Mr Chrismas was walking his dog in Barcombe Cross at 5.50am on Sunday morning when he saw something he is unlikely to forget.

'The sky lit up as though it was day and I saw an object travelling at high speed in the sky from north-east to south-west,' he said.

'The object was a brilliant green and trailing sparks. I wonder if anyone else saw it.'

And Mr Chrismas added: 'It was quicker than an aeroplane and well up in the sky. Perhaps it was a meteor as it appeared to go out.

'I was amazed.

'I could hear a tractor working out in a field. Perhaps the driver saw something.'
