POLICE are appealing to the community in the Marley Rise area of Battle for help following the death of a number of cats.

The first incident was in the middle of January where she found a long haired tabby cat on her driveway.

Just days later, on January 31, a shorthaired ginger cat was also found on her driveway.

Police say that neither of these cats had any injuries which could have caused their death.

In the third incident a young grey sphinx breed cat was found on the woman’s doorstep.

This cat was underweight and had chunks of fur missing.

The woman, an animal lover, was said to have found the incidents ‘distressing’.

PC Jessica Crump, from Battle Police, said: “The woman has gone to her neighbours to see if their cat is missing.

“This is obviously been very distressing for the lady and her family who are animal lovers.

“Have you seen anyone acting suspiciously in the Marley Rise area probably sometime between 10am and 3pm?

“Do you have any information about these cats?

“We are keen to find out what has happened to these animals.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or email [email protected] quoting serial 1050 of 19/2.”
