Near-£1m cocaine haul at airport
TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of smuggling cocaine worth nearly £1m through Gatwick Airport.
The major haul saw 24kg of the class A drug seized by officers from the UK Border Agency last Thursday.
It was concealed in luggage and valued at around 960,000, although this would have doubled or even trebled once 'cut' by drug dealers.
A man and a woman were arrested. The couple had arrived on a flight from St Lucia.
