Neighbourhood Watch drive

ROTHER Neighbourhood Watch has launched a campaign to drum up more support for the project in Rye.

And they are being backed by Bexhill Classic Car Association who turned out in Rye last week.

Keith Robinson, from the Association, took time to chat to Rye PCSO Neil Holden about the need for more public support.

Charles McIlwrick MBE, chairman of Rother Neighbourhood Watch, said: “As Chairman of Rother Neighbourhood Watch my sincere thanks go to Keith and all those who take part in the car events and promote NHWatch. I also thank the Neighbourhood Policing Teams for Bexhill Battle and Rye for their continued support.

“Our only problem is convincing residents to join us. We have worked very hard over the last three years or so to give everyone the chance to be part of the Rother scheme but there still seems to be so much apathy it makes us wonder at times why we bother.

“I ask all readers to take a look at our web site www.rothernhw.org.uk to see the progress we have made. I also encourage them to put their email address in the box on the front page of the web site and thereby receive information directly from us.

“We are doing our best but cannot do it without support. If you require advice or assistance in setting up a scheme please make contact. Do not forget the benefits of the Privilege Card”
