Luke Funnell, from Education Futures Trust, said: “The aim of these short courses is to increase levels of wellbeing, emotional resilience, exercise, self- esteem, and motivation, whilst encouraging a connection with the local environment and community.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn new outdoor skills such as bushcraft, fire making, foraging and wild cooking, they will also get involved in valuable community conservation and woodland management work, or gardening on our allotment site.

“These unique and valuable four week courses are free, and are open to any adults who experience physical or mental health as a barrier to moving forward.

“We will be running courses throughout the year in local woodlands and natural spaces. The first course will be starting on October 2 at Church in the Wood and will be an introduction to conservation work and bushcraft skills.

“Please come along to our enrolment morning on Friday 18th September 9am-10.30am , at Tesco Community space, Tesco Extra, Church Wood Drive, St Leonards on Sea.”

A successful pilot project was run earlier in the year.
