New green products at Little Common's market

REGULAR patrons at Little Common Farmers' Market this morning found a new stall to browse at the first monthly market of the year.

Customers who braved the wintry blast had the usual locally-produced food to enjoy, from pies to vegetables, cakes to cheese baps.

Market organiser Stuart Wood also had a surprise newcomer.

Clean And Pure is a new, locally-based, green venture. A group of four Hastings mothers have got together to set up a home-cleaning service using earth-friendly products.

Spokesperson Joy Catch said the products are all 100% plant-based, made from replenishable resources which are vegan and GM-free.

Little Common Farmers' Market and those at Bexhill and surrounding area are providing the launch-base for Clean And Pure.

The group say the products they use work just as efficiently as petroleum-based cleaning agents. They have the added advantage that their purity makes them ideal for families with children or adults who suffer from allergies.

The group plan to import a container-load of the American-made products a month - but on a carbon-neutral basis thanks to participation in a tree-planting offset scheme.

The foursome are marketing a range which includes cleaning agents for floors, shower, toilets and windows plus bleach, carpet shampoo, furniture polish, washing-up liquid, dishwasher gel, laundry liquid, soap, odour removers - even an earth enzyme drain cleaner.

The toilet cleaner uses nature's own anti-septic - cedar oil. Nature's own cleaner - orange oil - is used in many of the other products.
