New Pebsham play park opens

CHILDREN and young people in Pebsham have brand new outdoor play equipment to use.

A grand opening of the play park at Seabourne Road Recreation Ground will take place tomorrow (Saturday May 2) at 11am.

As well as trying out the new facilities, children can participate in a free arts and crafts play session from 11am to 3pm.

The park is designed to appeal to children over eight-years-old and features some of the exciting play equipment to challenge older children which has recently come on to the market.

Local children were asked what they would like to be fitted and the most popular item requested was a 'zip' wire. This has been delivered, along with a basket swing and interactive, electronic play facilities.

Funding for the project comes in part from a 2m Government grant awarded to East Sussex County Council last year following the county council's successful bid to become a Play Pathfinder area. The remainder of the funding has come from Rother District Council.
