New role for an Arun District Council manager

One of Arun District Council's longest serving senior managers has taken on a new role.

Jaqui Ball moves from being head of strategy, partnership, economic and cultural development to the post of interim strategic director – the council’s first woman director.

Jaqui now forms part of a three strong management team at Arun with new chief executive Nigel Lynn and corporate resources director Nigel Croad.

She has served for 26 years with Arun and is currently leading the authority and its 56 elected members through the process of determining their priorities from 2013 to 2017.

She said: “I feel very privileged to be asked to help and support our new chief executive as he leads Arun into a new era.

“It has always mattered to me, whatever my role at any particular time, to do my best for the council and for the community. I have been particularly lucky to work with supportive colleagues within the organisation and with some fantastic external partners from the private, public and voluntary sectors.

“I’m looking forward to leading a diverse and hard-working directorate of staff who always go the extra mile for our customers.”

Jaqui took over her new post on Monday and will continue until her retirement from the authority in June 2012.
