New shop in Worthing will create 150 jobs

AT LEAST 150 new jobs will be created following the news a new homeware store is opening in Worthing.

The Range has taken over the abandoned MFI building in the Pages Corner Retail Park, East Worthing, and will open its doors on Friday, April 2.

The opening of the new superstore is great news for Worthing following the closure of the MFI shop in 2008 after the company went into administration.

The new superstore will create 150 jobs in Worthing ranging from departmental managers and store managers to back office and warehouse staff.

Company owner, Chris Dawson, said he was delighted with the planned opening, adding: "Worthing is an area which is fast developing and I am excited about opening a store there.

"My research has shown the people of Worthing love a good bargain."

The new store opens at 9am on Friday, April 2, and the company has already said it is expecting a big crowd for the first day of trade.

Mr Dawson has asked customers not to queue before 6am as customers at previous store openings have caused traffic congestion.

The Range will sell arts and crafts, furniture, textiles, DIY, pet care, lighting, outdoor living and will have a coffee shop.
