New street lights in Yapton

New street lighting has been installed on the Loveys Estate in Yapton.

The replacement columns have cost 10,500 and have completed a project begun two years ago.

Yapton Parish Council asked for the work to be carried out to improve the quality of life and reduce the fear of crime and accidents for all residents in the area.

The installation has been agreed by West Sussex County Council's community safety unit.

The county council is paying 90 per cent of the cost of the installation. The rest is being funded by parish councillors.
