New website to boost carer charity profile

A CHARITY which supports carers is hoping a new website will stimulate more interest in its work and future fundraisers.

SAFE Hastings and Rother was formed in 1998 and funds respite care for people throughout the 1066 Country region. Since its formation the charity has raised almost £140,000 and helped more than 300 patients and their carers.

It also supports a host of services run by St Michael’s Hospice in St Leonards, including reflexology sessions, aromatherapy, physiotherapy, chaplaincy and even hairdressing and chiropody.

Now, thanks to a recent donation, it has been able to create a website which will not only showcase its forthcoming fundraising events but also tell people how they can get involved with the charity or, perhaps most importantly, how local carers can ask for help.

The website can be found online at www.safehastingsandrother.org or call 01424 432054 for details on SAFE.

The next fundraising is a watercolour demonstration by local artist Keith Collins. It will be held on September 21 at St Michael’s Hospice’s Arthur Easton Centre and ticket are just £5, including tea and cakes.

Donations for the charity can now also be made online.
