The county federation has joined with Rose Green members to try to establish the new institute at St Wilfrid’s Church Hall in Ellasdale Road. A meeting for potential members will be held there at 7.30pm next Thursday. WI advisor Judy Wilson, pictured, said: “It’s all about fun and friendship. There was a lot of interest in our centenary year in 2015 and I think that has prompted a lot of women to find out about what we can offer them.

“We get involved in a lot of campaigning on national issues and community matters.”
