COUNTRY MARKET: The market will be open as usual today, Friday, in the village hall from 10am to 11am.

CHURCH SERVICES: Services this Sunday at St Mary’s Church are 8am Holy Communion (BCP) at followed at 9.30am with the Mothering Sunday Family Service. A light breakfast will be available at 9.15am. In the evening you can enjoy a Choral Evensong at 6.30pm. Lifts are available if booked in advance, please telephone 722582. On Wednesday evening the Licensing Service for Rev Paul Mundy, the Bishop will name him the Curate in Charge at St Mary’s Church. Everyone welcome to attend these services,

WALKS: Healthy Walks for March are on the second and fourth Wednesdays, March 9 and 23. The walk commences from the Green opposite the Bull Inn at 10.30am and will take about one hour.

QUIZ NIGHT: There will be a quiz night on Saturday March 12 in the village hall from 8pm organised by Newick Horticultural Society. Tickets are £9, to include a ploughman’s supper, and are available by telephoning 01825 723658. These evenings are great fun,

NEWICK CINEMA: The cinema will be showing the film The Lady in The Van on Sunday in the village hall at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are £6 on the door, or you can reserve your ticket by emailing [email protected] or telephone 01825 723392.

AFTERNOON CLUB: Newick Afternoon Club next meeting will be on Thursday at 2.30pm in the Community Centre. The speaker is Lieutenant Colonel Geoffrey Vessey Holt MBE and the title of his talk is Necessity is the Mother of Invention. He will be speaking on the impact the tank made 100 years on.
