FROM Children’s Home To Soldiers’ Hospital ;Chailey Heritage In The First World War. On Thursday 4th February Chailey Heritage Foundation is opening its doors to the local community for a captivating talk on its history, and an opportunity to learn about the work the charity does today.
Established in 1903 Chailey Heritage Foundation has a fascinating history supporting children and young people with a range of conditions such as tuberculosis,rickets,polio, even treating injured soldiers during both World Wars. Guest speaker Dr.Julie Anderson ,reader in History of Modern Medicine at the University of Kent., will talk about Chailey Heritage Foundation’s pioneering approach to the rehabilitation of soldiers injured in the 1st World War.
After the talk, guest will have the opportunity to have a look round some of the facilities, meet some of the Charity’s beneficiaries and speak to the dedicated staff.
This event will take place at CHAILEY HERITAGE FOUNDATION from 6 to 8pm and is free of charge, but numbers are limited. If you would like to attend this meeting ,please contact Jenny Hanraads on 01 825 724 444 (ext 725) or email [email protected] to reserve your ticket.
