Hooe Sports Football Club played Sedlescombe Rangers in the Blacklands Finance Challenge Cup last Saturday and won 4-2! Well done boys.

Tomorrow, March 4, sees them play St. Leonards Social at the Tilekiln. Kick off is at 2.30pm. Saturday March 17 they play against Spartan ’04 at William Parker School, Hastings. Kick off is at 3pm. Hooe Open Group are meeting today, March 9, 2.30pm at Hooe Village Hall. Their speaker will be Margaret Crisp who will tell of her experiences on traveling the World as a solo traveller.

Ninfield Flower Group are holding a Jumble Sale on Saturday March 10, in the Memorial Hall, doors open at 2pm. There will be lots of bargains, cake stall and teas. If you are unable to attend but would like to donate, please contact Jennifer on 01424 892878.

Ninfield Village Society are holding their AGM on Tuesday March 13 at 7pm in the Methodist Hall. The meeting is open to all and we are looking to attract new members who have an interest in maintaining the amenities of our village. The 2012 Annual General Meeting of The Society will include a brief report on the work undertaken during the past year, and an opportunity to discuss future projects. Following a short break when refreshments will be available, we have enlisted Graham Keen to give us a talk and slide show titled “The History and Demise of Common Land”. St Mary’s Ninfield, Lent lunches 2012. Enjoy homemade soup, bread and cheese, tea and coffee and a chat with friends at the Reading Room. Wednesdays from 12 noon -1.30 pm on March 14, 21 and 28. Donations to a local charity, the church look forward to seeing you.

Hooe Parish Council are holding a council meeting on March 19 at the village hall, all Hooe residents are invited to attend.

Ninfield Working Mens Club are holding a charity Coffee Morning on Tuesday March 20, from 10am-11.30am. there will be a Bric-a-brac, books, DVD’s and CD’s for sale along with a raffle. Should the weather be on the wet or cold side, an open fire will help to make the morning more enjoyable!

The Golden Circle is next meeting on Tuesday March 21, 2pm at Ninfield Memorial Hall, 7.45pm. infield Horticultural Society are next meeting on March 21, 7.30pm at the Memorial Hall. Their evening session ‘Catching the Judges Eye’ should answer many of your questions about entering a Show. The judges’ advice will just be in time for you to enter their Spring Show on Saturday March 24. Schedules are available in the village Post Office. The Diamond Jubilee Committee are next meeting on Saturday March 24, 10 at the Ninfield Working Men’s Club. If you would like to join in the organising, please go along. Further details next week of what is in the pipeline for this extended weekend.

arch 25 sees many people raising funds for charities in the Hastings Half Marathon. The lovely lovely Louise from the Red Lion, Hooe, is one of those lucky (or mad) people! Louise is running to raise money towards a wheelchair for the recently hospitalised Mo Bourner (a Hooe resident). If you would like to sponsor Louise you can find a sponsorship form at Ninfield Post Office and Ninfield Village Stores, alternatively pop into the Red Lion. Good luck Louise!

The next game of Whist Drive is on March 28 at 7.30pm in the Committee Room of the Ninfield Memorial Hall. Cost is £3 which includes a cup of tea or coffee. Go and give it a try - call 892057 and speak to Beryl for more information.

Ninfield Memorial Hall Committee are holding a Quiz Night at Ninfield Memorial Hall on Saturday March 31, 7.30pm. Entrance fee includes a Ploughman’s Supper and Tea/Coffee. To book a table Tel:-892682/892878. Teams up to six people.

On Saturday March 31 there will be a Racenight at the Blacksmiths Inn to raise funds for St Micheals Hospice in memory of local Mum Helen Jaworanski. The event will start at 7.30pm and the MC for the evening will be Mr Stevie D. Everyone welcome.
