Last weekend saw an eventful weekend in Ninfield with the Carnival taking place, despite the not so fantastic weather!! On the Friday evening saw ‘Ninfield’s got Talent’ with 1st Aleisha Edwards who sang ‘Could’ve Been’, 2nd Asher Martin, doing a true war-time story in stand up comedy style, and 3rd Anna Foster who wowed the crowd with a traditional Belly Dance. Saturday saw a good turn out for the Carnival which saw the following floats and Fancy Dress win prizes:Adult Float; 1st –Working Men’s Club;-‘The Ancient Olympians”, 2nd – Ninfield Village Society;- ‘Noah’s Olympic Ark’, 3rd – The Blacksmiths Inn;- ‘British Equestrian Team’. Junior Float , 1st;- Ninfield Pre-School ‘Ancient Olympc Games’, 2nd;- Ninfield Carnival Court, 3rd;- Ninfield Sc hool ‘Australian Swimming Team’(No added water needed!). Highly Commended;- Little Stars Dance Club’ – Racing Yacht. Fancy Dress: Adults 1st;- Ashley Foord- ‘Weakest Warrior’, 2nd;- Mr Bowker ‘Gladiator’, 3rd Section 5 Drummers. Juniors 1st;- Phoebe, Megan, Jasmine Sowden- ‘Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medallists’, 2nd;- George and Lydia ‘Greek Charioteers’, 3rd;- Jack Bowker- ‘Roman Athlete’ and Honey- ‘Edwardian Boat Cox’. The evening revelers were entertained by Soul X Press and by the local dance club. A good weekend that raised funds for the Carnival Committees charity - Children with Cancer Fund. The Committee would like to thank the sponsors, helpers, raffle prize and cake donators, marshalls, and all of you who supported.

CreativeBexhill Community Interest Company -a not for profit social enterprise with aims of improving wellbeing in Bexhill and Rother - are providing two activities for three consecutive Tuesday’s at Ninfield Memorial Hall, starting July 24. Each day will start with ‘Feel Better With A Book’ - a good read aloud of popular texts from 1.30 to 2.30pm. There is a suggested donation of £2 for this activity. There will then follow at 3pm Gentle Yoga for an hour. The Yoga has a suggested donation of £3. This will then continue on July 31 and August 7.

Ninfield working Mens Club are holding a charity coffee morning on Tuesday July 24, 10am-12pm. There will be a cake stall and a bric a brac. They will also be holding an afternoon strawberry tea on August 14. Both events are in aid of the young Carers Charity. All are welcome.

Ninfield Bonfire Society’s ‘Ninfield Gig’ is back, July 28 at Elm Cottage, Marlpits Lane. Tickets can be purchased in advance from Ninfield Stores at the following prices: Adults £10 each, Children £5 each, Family (2 adults, 3 children) £25. Children 5 and under go free. Ticket prices at the gate are: Adults £12, children £6 (no family tickets).

Ninfield Parish Council are meeting on August 2, 7.15pm at the Methodist Church Hall, Church lane, Ninfield. All Ninfield residents are welcome to attend.

Ninfield Methodist Church are holding a Coffee Morning on Saturday August 4, 10.30am - 12 noon. There will also be a bring and buy stall. This is in memory of Mr. Ron Wells who was our village baker for many years. Proceeds raised will be shared between St Michael’s Hospice and The Stroke Association. You can then go along to........

The Arthritis Research Summer Garden Lunch is being held on Saturday August 4 at Elm Cottage, Marlpit Lane, 12.30pm. This is by kind invitation of Pete and Carol. All Welcome by booking with Ann: 892593. Tickets £7.50 each.

Daryl Holter, our local PCSO is holding a meet and greet on August 8, 9am at Ninfield Village Stores. This is a great opportunity for you to discuss any policing issues that you may have with Daryl.

The Christian Women’s Fellowship are raising money for Chestnut Tree House Childrens Hospice by holding a coffee morning and/or mini lunch on August 8. This will be held at Little Acre, Church Path, Ninfield, 10.30am - 2pm. There will be a bring and buy, raffle and plants for sale. All contributions would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and don’t forget to take a friend!

Hooe Open Group next meet on August 10, 2.30pm at the Bexhill Museum in Egerton Road, Bexhill. The museum will lay on a special presentation of their exceptional costume collection, consisting of both over and undergarments, ranging over a period of some 300 years. After this fascinating and knowledgeable presentation the members will walk to the De La Warr Pavilion, for a cream tea, taken in a reserved section of the first floor lounge. Ninfield Horticultural Society’s Summer show is on August 18 in the Memorial Hall at 2.30pm. They invite you to submit your entries for the show (there are classes for young and old alike!). Entry forms can be obtained from Rose, Ivan, Robin or Linda, to be submitted by August 15. There will also be refreshments and a tombola! All are welcome.

Daryl Holter, our local PCSO is holding a meet and greet on August 23, 6pm at the Red Lion Public House car park. This is a great opportunity for you to discuss any policing issues that you may have with Daryl.
