Ninfield & Hooe Village Voice - April 11

News from Ninfield & Hooe

NINFIELD Parish Council: It was a good meeting on Thursday, April 3, when the council approved the donation of 4,000 towards the cost of roof repairs for the Memorial Hall.

The matter of the book Ninfield in the Nineties, they hold the copyright, was raised. If it proves possible to publish it, how many copies would be required, would it be a financially viable project?

A letter had been received from the new manager of the Kings Arms. It is possible his views may affect the car park. The parish council chairman plans to try to arrange a meeting.

Several other items on the agenda proved interesting to the residents who were there.

The next meeting is the annual parish one which will be held on Thursday, May 1, in the Methodist Church Hall, Church Lane at 7.15pm.

HOOE OPEN GROUP: The members will meet this afternoon to hear about Evelyn Newman's Adventures on Walking Holidays. Meetings start at 2.30pm in Hooe village hall where visitors and new members are made most welcome.

More news as I am given it by the organisers, one way and another it will be worth staying at home that Bank Holiday weekend.

NINFIELD VILLAGE SOCIETY: The committee are hoping to arrange an event at the beginning of next month which they hope will interest Ninfield families and encourage them to take part. More news when I have it.
