Due to a very water logged recreation ground, the pram race that was due to be held on Monday May 7 had to be postponed. So that all those wishing to participate don’t miss out on the action, this will now be held later in the year, possibly September or October.

The crowning of the Carnival Queen will also take place at a later date (before the Carnival!), likely to be over the Jubilee weekend but this is to be confirmed. As soon as the information is filtered through, I will share it with you.

The season for outdoor Bowls has begun. Ninfield were due to have matches on Saturday April 28 against Northiam and they were due to play away at Battle on Sunday April 29 but due to appalling weather both matches were cancelled. Hopefully last weekends weather was slightly better.

The theme of this years carnival, July 14, is the Olympics. Please get those thinking caps on for your floats. Due to Olympic commitments, the police will be unable to provide any support for the road closure. Therefore, we need at least 15 marshalls to help with the procession. We also would ideally like a vehicle with flashing lights at the front and rear of the procession. Marshalls will be needed between 10.30am-1.30pm. If you could marshall or are willing to provide and drive a suitable vehicle in the procession please contact Lorna 893644. To start the event in the Arena there will be an official Opening Ceremony with the ‘Olympic Flame’ lighting a beacon on the Rec to start the day. –100 PEOPLE ARE NEEDED TO PERFORM AN EASY ROUTINE WITH FLAGS, RIBBONS, HOOPS ETC!!!!! – 3 rehearsals will be required, Sami is organising it… so, call , email (893699 or email [email protected]) and go and join in a one-time only fun event!
