Dance Club: Our Sequence Dance Club meets in the Village Hall on Friday evenings. Call Tony (253287) to find out more – the evening is 7-10pm with a break for tea and chat.

Badminton: We have two badminton clubs in the village, both happy to welcome occasional players, and open to all abilities. Fridays 8-10pm, and Mondays 5.45 -6.45pm in Pretious Sports Hall.

Plant Sale: Great Dixter’s Spring Plant Sale is on Saturday and Sunday 11-4.

Toddlers: Northiam Tadpoles baby & toddler group meet every Tuesday 9.15 - 11.15am at Pretious Sports Hall, Main Street (the hall between the primary school and nursery.) The session is £2.50 per family (to cover costs) for age 0-5’s which includes a healthy snack for the children, drinks and biscuits for the parents/carers, there are lots of toys out for all ages and finishes with song time.

Line Dancing: Line Dancing is in the Village Hall at 10am on Tuesdays. New people are very welcome - you don’t need any special clothing, and just comfy footwear. Call Helen (01797 252087) to book a place or find out more.

WI: John Proctor will be the speaker at this month’s Women’s Institute meeting, talking about backpacking in New Zealand. The competition is A postcard from my travels, and there will be the usual Flower of the Month competition and of course, the raffle. Meetings start at 2pm on the first Wednesday of each month in the Jenkins Room of the Village Hall.

Concert: Cantemus return to St Mary’s on Thursday 6th April with Renaissance Music for Easter. Performances of Josquin Des Prez and Palestrina by Cantemuis – Director Christopher Arnold. Admission is free.

Thursday Seniors: Thursday Seniors’ Club meets every Thursday in Northiam Village Hall from 10.30am until 2.30pm. All pensioners are welcome, and free door to door transport can be arranged for anyone in Northiam, Beckley, Peasmarsh and Broad Oak if you are on the Rye Community Bus route. The cost is £7 and includes welcome tea/coffee, a freshly cooked 2 course meal, extend chair exercises and a talk/entertainment. Bank: The NatWest mobile bank calls at the Village Hall car park each Thursday 1.15-2.15pm.

Spring Show: All the gardens are looking wonderful at the moment as spring flowers cheer us all up – and my seeds are sprouting in the greenhouse and on the windowsill. What better way to celebrate than by joining in the Horticultural Society’s Spring Show? You really don’t have to be an expert – do look at the schedule via the village website, and you will see that you can enter with a single daffodil! Call Alison (252525) or Averil (252486) to get a schedule or any help you might need. Set up is 9-10.30am on Saturday 8th April in Northiam Village Hall, and viewing is from 2.30pm.

Parish Meeting: The Annual Parish Meeting will be on Tuesday 11th April in the Village Hall – a good chance to find out what’s going on in the village, and I’m sure there will be more debate on the Blue Cross issue!

Quiz: The Bowls Club Quiz is tomorrow (1st) but don’t despair if you didn’t book in time – the next Bonfire Quiz is on Saturday 29th April. Call Judith (252114) to book a table of 8.

Cub Scouts: Could you offer your time to provide local young people an opportunity to develop their skills and confidence? No previous experience is necessary, but working as a member of the Scouting movement is hugely rewarding and really makes a difference.
