Coffee Morning: The monthly village coffee morning in the Village Hall is today (Friday) 9.30-11.30am.

Memorial:A plaque to commemorate the life of Major General Johnston will be unveiled in the Pump House on the Village Green on Friday at 2pm. Members of his family will join villagers to honour this amazing man who found peace in retirement in Northiam. The short ceremony will be followed by refreshments in the church centre.

Jumble Sale: The Village Hall Trust’s Jumble Sale is on Saturday 30th at 2.30pm. Jumble can be taken to the hall in the morning, or call Marie Edwards (253264) if you need to arrange collection. There will be a Book Sale in the Jenkins Room, so it’s worth a visit.

Garden Safari: n Sunday 31st May, six lovely gardens will be open in aid of the Bonfire Society. Programmes (£5) will be on sale at Goddens Gill Green in the middle of the route. Take your time to wander, stop for tea and enjoy someone else’s hard work! Gardens are open from 11am until 5pm.

Footpath Walk: The Footpath Group leaves the surgery car park at 2pm on Sunday for a 4½ mile walk from Rolvenden church, called The Bull Ring. You may have to join in to find out why!

Parish Council: The next meeting of the Parish Council will be on Monday at 7pm in the Jenkins Room.

Over 60s: Tuesday is the day for the Over 60s – at 2pm in the Village Hall.

Women’s Institute: On Wednesday, the WI welcomes Mrs Sian Trevellian, whose talk is entitled “Are men and women’s brains different?” It should provide some interesting discussion, and will be followed by Bring and Buy sale in aid of St Michael’s Hospice. Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of the month, from 2-4pm in the Jenkins Room. Guests are always welcome.

Human Waterworks: The Surgery patient Participation Group will host a talk from Roger Plail, who is an Urologist at the Conquest Hospital on Wednesday June 3rd at 7.30pm in the Village Hall.

Garage Sale: Sally and Richard will be holding a Garage Sale on Saturday 6th June in aid of all the projects in Chitiwiri. Any good quality bric-a-brac can be left at Forge House (the old Post Office) - we’re beginning to get into the hang of this!
