This weekend (24th and 25th) the Conservation Society will be repeating their popular 1911 census Exhibition in the Church Centre. Entrance is free, and the exhibition will be open from 11am – 5pm. There is now even more information, as the original work has been supplemented by photographs and documents which residents have previously brought along. As well as all this fascinating information, you may like to buy your copy of Jack Vidler’s memoir “Time Was”, or the definitive “O Rare Norgam”.

The Village Hall Trust will be holding a Book Sale on Saturday March 24th, 10.30am – 1pm. As well as getting all your holiday reading sorted, there will also be Jigsaws, DVDs etc on sale.

The Conservative Association’s annual Quiz Night is on Saturday, in the Village Hall – good fun guaranteed.

On Sunday, the Footpath Group will explore Beautiful Brenchley, leaving our surgery car park at 1.30pm for a 4½ mile walk from The Bull.

All the usual clubs meet throughout the week, with the Budgerigar Society in the Jenkins Room at 7pm on Monday, Coffee Stop welcoming all-comers for a chat over a cuppa in the Church Centre on Wednesday morning between 10am and 12noon, and Northiam Seniors will be hearing from a representative of Wiltshire Farm Foods at their meeting this week.

The Primary School will be in St Mary’s on Friday for their Easter Service, starting at 9.30am.

Northiam Horticultural Society’s Spring Show will be held next Saturday, March 31st. Schedules are available from Joan Davis (253458) and include baking, photography, flower arrangement, handicraft, flowers and vegetables and children’s sections. Please take a look at a schedule and take the plunge. It costs 20p to enter each exhibit, with the prospect of glory (as well as prize money and the thrill of taking part).

There will be a new venture on Sunday, April 1st, with the first meeting of Northiam’s Messy Church. This is an all-age church service, with an emphasis on families. Starting at 4pm at St Mary’s there will be an informal time of stories, activities and craft, with a light meal to round off the afternoon. Everyone is very welcome, but children will need to be accompanied by an adult. For more details, speak to Rod or Sarah (253118) or come along and try it out! Outings for your diary - Rye and District Association of the National Truist are going to the Devonshire ark Theatre, Eastbourne on Wednesday 2nd May to see The Diary of Anne Frank. Cost is £27. The Historical & Literary Society will be going to the Weald and Downland Open Museum on 26th June – cost £25 including coach and entrance, and the Horticultural Society’s trip is to Savill Garden, Windsor Great Park on 1st July and will cost £20.
