OAP hurt in crash

AN ELDERLY driver suffered a serious injury in a crash in Halland on Monday.

A 76-year-old man, from the Lewes area, was rushed to the emergency department of the Eastbourne District General Hospital after an accident on the B2192.

He suffered a suspected fractured sternum.

At around 3.06pm a silver Toyota Corolla, driven by the man, collided with a silver Vauxhall Astra.

A 75-year-old female passenger in the Corolla and the 29-year-old male driver of the Astra, from Crowborough, both had minor injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to call 0845 6070999.
