Closure would cause heartache

I am writing against the closure of the Conquest day care which is for adults with learning disabilities in this area.

ESCC want to close it down and relocate in a much smaller building in Bexhill called Beeching Park.

This will mean great heartache for all the clients attending Conquest who love it there.

Conquest is a lovely place, in a great position and has excellent staff.

It will cause much distress and problems with transport for everybody.

It will cost more take longer to get there whether by mini bus, taxi, or bus.

The clients come from
Hastings and outlaying villages.

Some clients do catch the local bus but this will be impossible for them to get to at Beeching Park as they would have to catch two buses and the bus stops are nowhere near Beeching Park Day Care Centre.

Adults with learning difficulties do not like changes, especially as it is for the worse and it will cause much distress to them all.

Why pick on the people who cannot fight back?

The first time we as parents and carers of these people knew about the proposed closure of Conquest Day Care was in the Observer which was before the meeting to tell us about it.

I hope ESCC will reconsider their plans as it will cause much distress to all.
